lyrics
THE AUTUMN STORMS IN THE NORTHERN SKY
SHAKE THE STARS INTO FIREFLIES
THUNDERING CLOUDS CLAP AND CRASH
THE FLAPPING OF A CELESTIAL FLASH
IN THE UPPER SKY, LIES A CLIFF
THIS IS WHERE THE ANIMIKI NEST
SPARKS SHOOT FROM THEIR EYES
HURL OF LIGHTNING, STREAKING CRIES
IN THE UNDERWORLD, THE HORNED SERPENT COILS
A DREADFUL CREATURE; THE MISHIKINEBIK
EYES LIKE FIRE, HEAD RED LIKE BLOOD
SCALES HARD AND OF MANY COLORS
AND BETWEEN THE LAYERS OF THE COSMOS, THE WHITE CEDAR TREE IS THE AXIS. HERE, RESIDES THE COUNCIL OF THREE FIRES. AN ANISHINAABE ALLIANCE FORGED OF OJIBWE, OTTAWA, AND POTAWOTAMI NATIONS
OJIBWE! KEEPERS OF THE FAITH!
OTTAWA! KEEPERS OF THE TRADE!
POTAWOTAMI! KEEPERS OF THE FIRE!
WE MEET AT MICHILIMACKINAC!

Kommodus is the acid rain that pours on you melting your existence with it's sheer combustion power. I'm thinking this is first wave black metal through modern lense with strong concept of nonmodern temper of survival of the fittest. Pugnacious drums ushers dark army of decimating riffs and basslines to immolate everything on their way. There's hints of early Sepultura too which is kinda refreshing. Fine, defiant art. 𝙅𝙤𝙚 𝙎𝙥𝙞𝙣𝙚𝙡𝙡
